Market your Services with a Holiday Check-in

The holiday season is a great time to connect with current and past clients. No matter if you do so on the phone, via email, or even in person, this is one time of the year when you should reach out to every current and past client. While job number one is to wish them a happy holiday season, this is also a great opportunity to market your services.

Here are three tips for getting started:

1. After discussing the holidays, you can touch on the client’s needs for the upcoming year.

This is a great time to let them know you will be available, as always, while also talking about any additional services that you offer.

2. Ask what you can do for them, not what they can do for you.

The holidays are a time for giving. Take the time to find out what your client needs right now, as well as in the future. With this approach to customer service, your chance of keeping the client well into 2013 is much greater.

3. Be patient.

Let’s face it: most people are extremely busy during the holidays. Not only do they have a lot going on in their personal life, but they are winding their business down for the year. Despite the fact that you may have a conversation about additional services, you may not actually “close the deal” until the new year.

Have you checked in with all your current and past clients this holiday season? If not, you should think about doing so right away. Time is running out and 2013 will be here before you know it. Even if you don’t make any progress in terms of your business, you can look back and enjoy the fact that you have stayed in touch with so many people during this wonderful time of the year.

This is a great idea. I don’t usually get in contact with past clients during the holiday season, just mostly the current ones. I agree that it’s a great opportunity to see where they are in terms of business and see what services I can offer them. Thanks for the tips.
