Post Your Writer Profile

You can post your writer profile to the professional freelance writer directory using the form below. Please review the terms and conditions below before submitting your profile. Please note, I manually review and approve all directory submissions. I review them as soon as I see the payment notification emails come through. This is usually within 24 hours (often much faster), but over weekends or holidays it may take up to 48 hours. If you don't see your profile in the directory after that time, please contact me.

Submit Your Profile to the Freelance Writer Directory

Please enter your first and last name here.
Please enter your email address. This will be used to update you on the status of your submission or any problems with it or to register you for an account if you choose to below (so you can edit this profile directly in the future). It will not be displayed publicly, and it will not be added to any ongoing mailing list. If you want your email address to be public, please include it in the public contact field below. If you have a Gravatar associated with this email address, your avatar/photo will be included in your profile automatically.
Registration is not required in order to post a profile, but it allows you to log in and edit your profile by revisiting this page later. Please enter a professional headline. (ex. Sales Page Copywriter or SEO Web Content Writer)
You may include a link to your professional website or portfolio where prospects can learn more about you and your writing services. Note: Links to Facebook-owned properties are not permitted at All Freelance Writing.
Please note: You may not use the "per project" category to try to get around our per article / per hour / per page rate requirements. This option is generally appropriate for longer works such as white papers and reports.
Please note: This is a directory of professional freelance writers. There is a $50 per article / page / hour rate as a minimum to be listed here in an effort to avoid becoming yet another marketplace where writers under-bid each other in a perpetual race to the bottom. If you select one of these rate ranges and your profile details imply that you actually charge less than this minimum, your profile will be removed. So do not try to use the "per project" rate type to get around the rate requirement).
Briefly describe the projects you're interested in or the services you offer.
Here you can offer any further background about your credentials that might be of interest to clients.
Please tell prospects how they may contact you if they're interested in hiring you. For example, you might include the address of a contact page on your website. (Links to Facebook-owned properties are not permitted.) Note: Anything you add to this field will be posted publicly, making it accessible to anyone who visits this website. Please keep that in mind before publishing email addresses and phone numbers directly.
The current rate for a standard professional writer profile is $24.95. This is a one-time fee. You will be taken to Paypal to process your order.
Terms and conditions: There is a one-time fee of $24.95 for a listing in the freelance writer directory. All submissions are manually reviewed for approval before appearing on the site within 48 business hours (Mon-Thurs), and often much quicker. Only profiles for freelance writers and editors are permitted (NO author profiles, company profiles, other types of freelance professionals, product ads, etc.). While your profile may include a link to your website, the profile itself must provide clients with the basic information they need about your specialty area and experience. You don't have to include a lot of details, but simply telling people to visit your site is not enough. This is a directory for professional writers and was designed to be different than typical "race to the bottom" marketplaces. As a result we have a minimum rate range here. This minimum rate is the equivalent of $50 per article or $50 per hour. Any attempt to get around these rate requirements will result in your profile being rejected or removed. All Freelance Writing's owner or other representatives reserve the right to reject any freelance writer profile submission for any reason. This may include a failure to meet rate requirements, advertised services in niches we don't deem acceptable such as hate, gambling, payday loans, drugs, alcohol, "academic writing," or anything else found inappropriate for the site on a case-by-case-basis. Links to Facebook-owned properties are not permitted at All Freelance Writing and they will lead to profiles being rejected. If inappropriate links or services are added after initial approval, the profile will be temporarily taken offline and you will be given the opportunity to update it to abide by these terms. You may register for a free account on the site during your profile submission process (choose that option and name your desired username in the form above). If you do request a user account during this submission process (which are set up by the admin, not automatically), you will have the ability to edit your listing by revisiting this page which will be pre-populated with your saved profile information. Please note if you pay for a listing and it is not approved, you will receive a refund. However, if you have an accepted profile which appears live in the writer directory and you make changes at a later time which violate these terms, your profile will be removed and you will not be entitled to a refund. You will, however, be able to make acceptable edits to your listing to have it reconsidered for approval.

Tips for Writing a More Effective Freelance Writer Profile

The results you see from your writer profile depend partly on the copy in your profile itself. Keep these tips in mind if you want to appeal to freelance writing prospects:

  • When providing contact information, don't simply list your website or email address. Include a call-to-action (CTA) telling prospects exactly what they should do.
  • Focus your profile on benefits to your target clients. It's not just a laundry list of what you've done. It's not a resume. It's a list of what you can do for someone else and how your skills can benefit them.
  • Be specific about the services you offer. If you simply say you're open to writing everything, you won't stand out when a client needs a certain type of writer and there are plenty of specialists to choose from. Remember, you want to stand out against other writers promoting similar services, so make it clear what sets you apart.
  • Choose the best category for your work. Many of us take on more than one project type, but you're limited to one category here. Consider which service you want to focus on most heavily, but also how many competing writers there are in a category. For example, if you take on technical writing but also blog about tech topics, you'll stand out more in the technical writer category because there are fewer writers there (as of the time I'm publishing this).

Note: if you post your email address in the contact section of your profile, it will be publicly-accessible on the site. This means anyone who sees it can contact you, including email harvesters who might send you spam. I strongly recommend that you link to the contact page of your professional website instead to protect your email address. If you don't have a professional website yet, another option is to use a separate email address solely for public listings to protect your primary address. Only post contact information you want publicly-available in your profile.
