The Best and Worst Times to Post on Social Networks

For this week's short share we have an interesting one on timing your social media updates from SocialCaffeine.com.

What do you think? Obviously the actual best times to post on social networks won't be the same for everyone because of community and niche differences. But how close does your experience come to these recommended times?

I've done the most testing on Twitter. My main account does best from 9:00 - 10:00 am and from 12:00 - 2:00 pm. But other accounts of mine, and ones I've managed for clients, have very different optimal posting times. What about you?

  1. I didn’t create the graphic, so I’m not sure. You could check their sources which they’ve included at the bottom. But I would assume they mean posting during those timeframes in your own time, to reach your local audience (or based on whatever time zone your key audience is in).

That’s why it’s a good idea to always do your own testing though. Even here in the U.S. we have a three hour time difference between east coast and west coast — a good reason to share things more than once.

  2. Hi!
we are a group of German Indie Writers and gather content about Scrivener. We started a site called scrivpost.de – posts will contain our own knowledge, but we will be grateful if we are allowed to also link to your Scrivener-posts and templates and translate them for the German site scrivpost.de, because many German writers aren’t firm enough in English to be able to follow.
    We would be very grateful.

    Cheers, Karin

    • Hi Karin,

I’d prefer that the post itself not be translated and re-posted elsewhere. But, as long as it’s shared for free like this one, I don’t mind you translating the Scrivener template itself and sharing it with your audience. Just make sure I / this site are credited as the original source please. And I’d love it if you share the link here when you post it. 🙂
