It’s Writer’s Worth Month 2015!

Writer's Worth Month 2015

Every year Lori Widmer of Words on the Page hosts Writer's Worth Month. In Lori's words, the mission of Writer's Worth Month is "to reach freelance writers and help them gain confidence in the value of their skills." In other words, it's about helping you earn more and build a more successful writing business.

To do this, Lori features a series of posts -- both her own and those from guests.

She showcases lousy job ads and shows you better examples in her "This Job, Not That Job" series (which goes beyond this month). Writers share stories about their "A-Ha moment" when they realized their work was worth more than they were previously being paid. And you'll find tips related to confidence, finding better clients, figuring out what kind of value you provide clients, and learning how to earn more doing the work you love.

I'm taking part again this month with a post about content mills. More specifically, I put together a re-edit of my chat with Lori for a previous All Freelance Writing Podcast episode (on every day marketing for freelance writers).

While there is a tiny bit of overlap, most of the Writer's Worth Month contribution will feature a previously unheard portion of our call where we discussed mills, the lies some of them have told to suck in new freelance writers, and how you can rise above what they have to offer.

Unless something changes, you should be able to find my post on Lori's blog on May 13th. But be sure to visit all month long -- she mentioned that she'll have two posts going up per day most days, so it should be a great one!
